The archipelago of 21 islands including Fernando de Noronha is one of the most important ecological sanctuaries in the world, and a few years ago became also a UNESCO World Heritage site.

This tropical heaven with it’s sheer cliffs raising out from the blue waters of the Atlantic Ocean is a beacon to divers from all over the world, as the waters are home to a variety of fish, manta rays, sharks and dolphins.

Every morning in the Bay of Dolphins – Baia dos Golfinhos you can enjoy the dance of over 1000 spinner dolphins which gather there in the early sunshine. Sea turtles use the beaches to lay their eggs here.

To preserve the main island’s - Fernando de Noronha landscape, only a certain number of guests can visit the place at once.

The island has a single road going from Baia do Sueste to the eastern port of Baia Santo Antonio, close to Vila dos Remedios where the majority of the population of the island lives. The small town features a church, a post office, a dive shop and a bar. The interesting structure here is the Forte dos Remedios, a reminder of the Portugese occupation.

The surrounding islands are characterized by their specific formations. The Meio island for example has been  eroded to form an inverted pyramid and is a well known mark for sailors.
