This National Park and a UNESCO World Heritage site consists of glaciers that belonged to southern Patagonia’s ice cap. The most impressive one is Perito Moreno. The gateway to this glacier is a small town called El Calafate, located in the area where the Santa Cruz plateau meets the Andes.
The glacier periodically advances over the Lago Argentino until the water ruptures the ice giving us one of the nature’s most incredible events.Travelling down the Brazo Rico, you will pass an incredible number of glaciers in their amazing show of ice, until you reach the Curva de Los Suspiros where you can gaze at the panoramic view of the Perito Moreno stretching 5km (3mi) across and to a height of over 60m(197ft).
It’s an incredible experience of watching simultaneous creation and destruction of the soil accompanied with the roars of ice separating from the glacier and crashing into the water, and all through a completely natural process.
There is a number of touristic ships which will take you to an even closer experience of this Arctic adventure, so later on you can talk it over with your friends drinking that pure collected water.
