The God’s Pocket is a marine park located in the north part of the Vancouver Island. It is known for very clear waters and a very live marine life which makes it an excellent scuba-diving location.
Among that, the area is also said to be haunted by spirits and that there is a Yeti like creature wandering around. The area’s climate, mists and tranquility sure can strengthen the mysterious feeling about the place.
There are various archeological sites as well as places where experienced divers can spot orcas, sea lions and whales.
The lodge on Hurst Island, next to the park can arrange diving trips as well as kayaking. There are no determined camping sites in the area, but random camping in the wild is permitted.
WHERE IS IT The God’s Pocket Provincial Marine Park is located some 20km (12.5mi) north from Port Hardy on Northern Vancouver Island.
HOW TO GET THERE You can get there by boat from Port Hardy or by seaplane.
