Nature lovers who plan to visit Africa, be sure to take a trip to this spectacular East African landscapes. There is a number of rapidly receding glaciers on the mountain, and  the magnificent view of the peaks forming a u-shaped valley filled with flowers will absolutely soften your hearts and make you want to stay in this fairy tale.

The Mount Kenya National Park is full of stunning lakes, glaciers, peaks and natural springs. The vegetation that differs as the height raises gives home to a number of animal species, and for example - elephants, buffaloes and zebras can be seen on a height of 4000 m (13,100 ft). Other animals living in the forests include black and white Colobus monkeys, and lower down - hyenas, leopards and rhinos can be seen.

The Park is also home to a number of endangered species.

 

WHEN TO GO
The large animals are in the high altitudes during the dry seasons – January to March and July to October, while the birds migrate down during the rains of March to June and October to December.

WHAT IS IT KNOWN FOR
Known as Kere Nyaga – The Mountain of Brightness and is belived to be home of a supreme being called Ngai.
