The Mount Kenya National Park is full of stunning lakes, glaciers, peaks and natural springs. The vegetation that differs as the height raises gives home to a number of animal species, and for example - elephants, buffaloes and zebras can be seen on a height of 4000 m (13,100 ft). Other animals living in the forests include black and white Colobus monkeys, and lower down - hyenas, leopards and rhinos can be seen.
The Park is also home to a number of endangered species.
WHEN TO GO The large animals are in the high altitudes during the dry seasons – January to March and July to October, while the birds migrate down during the rains of March to June and October to December.
